Italian in Tuscany

Special

programs 2015

Why study Italian?

The Italian language is considered to be a beautiful and melodious language, as it is the language of opera and classical music, good food and fashion.  It is inextricably linked to Italian culture, and to a country with the richest artistic heritage in the world, the country of Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Titian, Dante and The Renaissance.

Why study Italian in Tuscany?

Tuscany is the region where the modern Italian language was born.  Here, in the 14th century, the “fathers” of the language, Dante, Petrarca and Boccaccio, gave importance and nobility to the colloquial Italian language that has since remained essentially unchanged.  Accordingly, there is no better place to study Italian than at the school of Il Sillabo, here in the heart of Tuscany in San Giovanni Valdarno!    The town is ideally located a half an hour from Florence, the cradle of The Renaissance and the Italian language, and also just 45 minutes from Cortona and from Siena.

How to learn Italian in Tuscany?

Group courses.

From May through October, classes are scheduled weekly for groups with a minimum of 3 (maximum of 10) students. In the event that the minimum number of students is not met, private and/or semi-private lessons are available.   You can choose between the following courses:

 • Intensive Course:  20 hours (each teaching hour is 50 minutes) per week.  Classes are held in the mornings from 9:00am to
